- Ensure daily compliance is documented for Safety, Food Safety & Efficiency. All production documentation to be completed correctly and legible & repeat operator errors to be escalated.
- Ensure 100% compliance in Safety & Food Safety Training via the Alchemy system training for teams. Recommend and escalate any training requirements and follow up if not actioned.
- Maintenance / Implementation of 5s in the area of responsibility & verify daily / weekly / monthly compliance checks are completed.
- Ensure standard operating procedures are followed at all times and all near misses and accidents are reported.
- Complete & contribute to Risk Assessments and SOP’s as and when required.
- Attend and participate in SEATs meetings to drive improvements in department and area safety.
- Be certain that product safety and hygiene requirements meet both internal specification and HACCP requirements at all times or immediately escalate to the Shift Manager.
- Maintain the required high standard of housekeeping and GMP across your line(s) at all times and ensure GMP in the area >98%.
- Ensure all products meet the requirements of the internal specifications and process monitoring requirements are completed to the required standards.
- Actively encourage your team to put quality before efficiency and deliver each shift to RFT metric.
- Conduct line level meetings to relay information across SQE to Production, Engineering and Quality.
- Discuss and problem solve the hourly targets with your team. Ensure any plan or specification changes are communicated from your team.
- Attend the Daily Operations meeting and participate. Accurate & relevant information to be provided for line performance and action.
- Complete regular line and process equipment checks and ensure issues are reported.
- Assign employees to duties throughout the shift. Liaise with the Shift Manager to review and execute against production plans with appropriate priority.
- Support the Shift Manager to ensure that the lead in to shutdowns is managed to promote the best possible outcome and Performance from the hygiene and engineering works planned.
- OEE recording to be timely and accurate in terms of performance, downtime and waste.
- Hourly production boards are completed, monitored & actioned in real time. Complete problem solving and communicate outcomes.
- Input improvement ideas to be identified to Shift Manger or deputy.
- Complete and update Centre Line settings database for the entire line to ensure deliver of the product to the right quality and cost.
- Ensure all materials (packaging and ingredients) are consumed real time and production orders are manufactured to the required waste standards and waste minimised by ensuring Production RFT to each order.
- Ensure Consumables stocks are maintained and any non-availability escalated.
- Report all equipment downtime issues using the CMMS helpdesk to report and track equipment performance.
- Food manufacturing experience essential and ideally Level 3 HACCP & Level 3 Food Safety Trained.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Line Leader role.
- Experience of co-ordinating both permanent and agency staff on shift based operations with staff from multiple nationalities.
- Experience in increase capability of staff / completing training.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate Records and Logs.
- Self-motivated to deliver the role within a fast paced environment with mixed skills and abilities across permanent and agency staff.
- Basic Computer Literacy – able to use MS Programs: Outlook, Excel and inventory control systems eg SAP.
