Summary

Our NHS partner is looking for an experienced manager to lead a passionate group of Network Engineers. This is a vital role within an NHS Trust that focuses on ensuring the network is robust and meets the evolving requirements of frontline Healthcare in their complex infrastructure.

The trust department maintains an enterprise environment of over 200 servers, 4000 end users, and two data centres providing a 24-hour service to clinical and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Network operations and the management of network engineers who will look to you for tactical problem-solving and personalised mentorship.

Stay on top of new technologies and look for ways of streamlining and improving current systems and security.

Development and execution of strategies in line with technological changes and the organisations business needs.

Represent the Trust as a technical expert in forums across the wider NHS/South West London community and a member of the NHS Cyber Associate Network

The right person needs to manage themselves and others with minimum direction, taking the lead to resolve operational technical issues with IT Infrastructure Systems. They will need to be confident under pressure and able to provide advice to users and peers as a subject matter expert. IT Data Networks will be their primary specialism.

Key to the role is good experience of troubleshooting complex problems involving data networks, firewalls and their interactions with hardware and other software.

The postholder will need to be a dynamic individual who is not afraid to tackle problems head on, taking ownership and seeing complex problems through to resolution.

They will manage a team of Network Specialists ensuring that the SLAs are met and that the businesses operational needs are prioritised.

This post will be part of the Network and infrastructure support function within the Hospitals Network Services Team. The candidate will have technical responsibility for the network infrastructure and will manage the team of network specialists who maintain these systems day-to-day.

We are looking for an individual with experience in an IT technical role who has vast experience of delivering and supporting servers in a large enterprise environment (2500+ users & 75+ servers). Experience of working in the NHS would be preferable.

Cisco Certified Network Professional

Service Management Qualification

Project Management Qualification

Preferred Qualifications
