About The Opportunity

Senior Network Engineer responsible for supporting the firm’s WAN, LAN, and Data Center network infrastructure. These needs include the day to day support and repair, as well as input on design and new implementations of network technologies, equipment, and telecommunications services. Working with a team of data networking peers, this position will implement new WAN and LAN solutions and provide daily support of Jacobs global data network architecture and communications service providers.

• Administration, support, and documentation of data and data center networks consisting of Aruba, Cisco, HPE, Palo Alto and other networking vendor products and technologies.
• Support and manage global MPLS, VPN, and wireless networks
• Responsible for resolving and closing networking and telecommunications related trouble tickets
• Support task related to integrations and IT architecture initiatives
• Experience working within and leading project teams
• Engineer will be responsible for periodic support of network issues and participation in scheduled down times during off-hours and weekends, both remotely and onsite as assigned by manager

Here’s What You’ll Need

Required Experience

• Experience with Cisco IOS Routers and Switches, and Aruba / HPE networking gear in large WAN and LAN environments - 10+ years
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP 5+ years
• Experience with creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting IPSec based VPN networks on Palo Alto firewall equipment.
• Experience with deploying and troubleshooting QoS in a large WAN environment
• Experience with Spanning Tree, VLANs, and ACLs
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially when communicating with internal customers
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient in handling multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and demanding environment
• Fast learner - able to grasp concepts from on-the-job training
• Teamwork and internal customer skills
• Primary duties focused within Manchester and Warrington with additional travel likely in the UK and Europe

Preferred Additional Experience

• UK National with UK Security Clearance for secure network projects strongly desired
• Knowledge and support of Cisco wireless technologies
• Knowledge and support of Cisco NX OS
• Knowledge of SIP and VoIP in a converged voice/data network
• Experience with use of Microsoft SharePoint, Visio, Word, and Excel for document and data management
• Knowledge of SolarWinds Orion monitoring and configuration applications
• Data network cabling knowledge
