Senior Mechanical Engineer Wymondham


You will collaborate with the Oil & Gas Mechanical Projects Contracts Manager with functional reporting to the Senior Project Manager. You will provide sound technical advice to Project Group’s on engineering design issues and generate engineering design documentation, test procedures, specifications, manuals and specify and procure materials for projects. As a Senior Engineer you will ensure that the work carried out fulfils all technical and certified requirements of the contract. In support of tenders, you will provide experienced technical advice to the sales team and attend meetings with existing and prospective clients to ensure project adherence and success.
How you will do it
Review technical and commercial aspects of project specifications with reference to project bid allowances.
Liaise directly with clients, sub-contractors and internal departments on all technical matters relating to the design of packages.
Design mechanical schematic diagrams/drawings in accordance with company standards.
Generate, for the Project Group’s, all documentation required by the projects, at all stages of each contract, and at the time required.
Ensure, in conjunction with the various departments involved, that all certification and QA / QC requirements for each project are adequately met.
Write specifications for procured materials, and to raise Material Enquiries and Purchase Requisitions for materials required by the project.
Coordinate and facilitate the manufacture, test, installation, and commissioning of specific purpose control systems.
Review package design and related issues in project Design Reviews with Project Engineer and Contracts Manager, as appropriate.
Design mechanical schematic diagrams/drawings in accordance with company standards.

  • The ability to work on multi projects
  • Hitting deadlines to ensure agreed turnaround times are met for completion of project documents
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a proven track record in providing structural calculations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Minimum standard of HNC or equivalent, in Control, Mechanical Engineering


Preferred

  • An understanding of welding and fabrication structures
  • Desirable to BSc / BEng standard in Control, Mechanical Engineering.
