Our client, an oil and gas engineering firm, is a worldwide leader in their market with great stability and a healthy workload. They now require a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work from their Northumberland office.

The Role

Create and develop designs of offshore and subsea equipment for the offshore energy industry

Produce general arrangement and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD

Creating design documentation such as design reports and FEA Reports

Perform hand calculation checks on equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose using MathCAD prime and Microsoft excel

Perform FEA analysis to verify design suitability

Take an active role in presenting ideas and designs during meetings with customers

The Person

Have a good understanding of engineering principles

Have over 8 years’ experience working in a similar industry (oil and gas)

Experience using a 3D CAD package for drafting (Preferably Autodesk Inventor)

Experience in using Ansys work bench for static structural analysis to verify designs

Experience using MathCAD to carry out calculations.

Can perform structural strength calculations and pipe pressure calculations to various industry standards

Preferable to have experience in designing equipment used in fluid transfer applications

Confident in communicating with both work colleagues and external clients and customers
