Senior Marketing Manager

Level 4 Associate Director, reports to Head of Marketing

The opportunity

As part of the Marketing and Activation team, you will be at the epicentre of where BMC plans turn into action and the rubber hits the road. You will be fundamental to ensuring we deliver our intended outcomes and to interface daily with both internal stakeholders and our agencies and partners.

This role requires a team player who can inspire others to unite behind a clear direction and vision. You will be a commercial thinker who can translate business strategy and objectives into creative marketing plans, campaigns and programmes that deliver measurable results.

The Senior Marketing Manager will work across a flexible portfolio; leading a team in building and activating campaigns that meet the objectives set out in the annual BMC strategy. Taking the laydown (the framework that outlines what campaigns will run across the year) as the starting point, you will work with a small roster of agency partners to develop impactful campaigns that help us reach our BMC objectives and ultimately to reach our goal of becoming the most trusted, distinctive professional services organization by 2025 and delivering on our purpose of Building a better working world.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible and accountable for the development and delivery of commercial and measurable marketing campaigns across your assigned portfolio and BMC pillar. Using the Brand, Board, Buyer campaign framework, you will work across the wider BMC function to connect the dots and build plans that support the firm’s growth ambitions and build a distinctive brand in the market.
  • You will use your strong understanding of the markets we operate in, strategic business issues and markets trends to inform your thinking when developing and scoping plans.
  • You will build a strong network internally (including global colleagues as well as UK) and externally; working with agencies and third parties to develop campaigns and programmes that provide platforms and channels to drive distinctiveness across our chosen campaign themes and narratives.
  • You will work collaboratively with the wider Marketing and Activation team to ensure plans are connected and that we are fully leveraging and influencing the shape of wider assets and programmes produced by the UK and global BMC team.
  • You will be the BMC point of contact for your portfolio of accounts, representing BMC on relevant boards. You will work with leaders to help them understand the BMC strategy (in partnership with Brand, Strategy and Planning team) and work with them to translate that in their market/SL.
  • Pro-actively work with BD to ensure plans are commercial and aligned to priority revenue opportunities as appropriate.
  • Work with the Brand, Strategy and Planning team to effectively measure ROI, course correcting and adapting plans as needed to meet objectives.
  • Overall responsibility for effective operational management across the pillar and team you lead including budget management and adhering to risk management policies as required.
  • You will lead, counsel and line manage a team, coaching and motivating them to build a group of high performers who work together successfully to achieve desired outcomes.
  • As a brand guardian you will take responsibility for SCORE process acting as a brand ambassador for the firm.
  • Work with the digital team to ensure ey.com is relevant and engaging and supports buyer journey objectives.
  • Work with external comms team to develop holistic campaign plans and programmes.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into achievable creative and commercial plans.
  • Strong commercial skills alongside technical marketing knowledge and ability
  • To confidently navigate the ambiguous through change, demonstrating tenacity and resilience as a role model to others across the BMC function.
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting, decision-making, and follow-through skills.
  • Strong understanding of strategic business drivers and markets trends and how these translate into marketing strategy.
  • A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practice. 

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • 8+ years’ experience in a challenging and fast paced environment
  • Strong expertise and knowledge of the full spectrum of brand, marketing and communications disciplines
  • Knowledge of automated and digital marketing

Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Line management and leadership experience
  • Experience in successfully working with media and creative agencies and third parties to deliver innovative campaigns
  • Strong B2B background
  • Experience of briefing and working with creative agencies
