Based in Weston-Super-Mare

Our client is a well-established, fast growing European market leading specialist in sustainable manufacturing services and partner to major OEMs, such as Ford, JLR and many others. They are an entrepreneurial business, who, due to on-going expansion both within core business are committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business and now wish to appoint a new Manufacturing Engineer. Due to the nature of their work being supplied to OEMs, they are compliant with the highest quality standards, meaning it is a best practice environment, yet it is a smaller, more entrepreneurial company, making this a unique place to gain a very broad set of skills, commercial, customer facing, technical and true engineering-based problem solving. They pride themselves on mentoring and developing their people and it is a culture in which, whilst supported, you will be expected to take ownership, making decisions and stand on your own feet.

You will become the subject matter expert within your field and take responsibility for on-going process development, supporting new product introduction (NPI) and change management of production processes. They have won a significant new contract and have others due to land in the near future, offering the right person, a real opportunity to add value to the business.

As Manufacturing Engineer your role will also support the maintenance of a variety of engineering activities for current production programs to ensure compliance to customer-specific and business requirements.

You will be a key member of a number of team-based activities including Daily production, FRC, FMEA, CIP & 8D meetings.

Skills/Experience

Outstanding organisational skills, incorporating modern technological and administrative functions/systems.

Ability to explain design ideas supported by drawings and plans clearly, incorporating into professional operational and/or business reports.

Experience of co-ordinating, supporting with detailed accurate drawings & overseeing the manufacture of special purpose tools & components, designing jigs and fixtures using CAD.
