The opportunity

In recent years, the war for talent has risen on the list of top priorities for large organisations, in particular due to changing workforce dynamics and environments. We have many clients from various sectors talking to us about how they can nurture talent within their organisation engagingly in varying contexts. EY’s Talent team in EYLane4 is a diverse group of experts who collaborate to deliver high-end solutions to address such concerns raised by our clients.

We’re now recruiting for a Senior Manager who can demonstrate real impact within across the Talent and Learning agenda- development for our clients. We require are looking for people who can build Talent and learning service offerings, understand client needs, contribute to building Talent thought leadership, grow our internal capability and connect effectively across our global People Consulting teams to maximise our global knowledge and experience in supporting clients to build and develop their talent pool.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will have a strong business growth and development focus selling, designing and delivering talent solutions, with key focus areas including:
  • Undertake talent transformation activities across the people lifecycle: attract, source, develop, reward and retain.
  • Have a very good knowledge of the components of the talent framework and understand how each component relates to each other
  • Leadership Development and use of a range of assessment tools
  • Learning technology, and Learning transformation
  • Culture, change and transformation
  • Learning innovation across digital, classroom, eLearning, coaching and wider blended learning and engagement solutions
  • Structure and manage projects and programmes to meet and exceed client expectations;
  • Implement project management practices
  • Execute project management across the full lifecycle of programmes including evaluation
  • Manage project delivery, budget, profitability and scope
  • Recognise and manage risks and issues
  • Represent your teams, workstreams and projects in relevant steering committees
  • Be able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of a culture service, engagement offering and people strategies
  • Take a practical approach to solving issues and gaining client agreement
  • Grow the Talent offering by actively driving the ongoing development of the practice whilst assuming operational responsibility for a range of assignments across sectors
  • Grow EY’s Talent market profile by developing a differentiated offering built on best practice
  • Contribute to business development and client pursuit efforts by leading the preparing of proposals and delivering presentations to potential clients. Drive the delivery of subsequently won work
  • Utilise existing sales experience and network to generate profitable revenue by developing lasting relationships with clients, through business development and account management
  • Drive innovation to ensure provision of market leading, relevant and highly-targeted solutions and content-rich thought leadership to clients
  • Contribute to delivery of wider strategic goals across People Consulting and the wider UK & Ireland business at EY, as well as supporting and participating in initiatives for growth of the firm as a whole

Core Consulting Skills:
  • Develop, shape and deliver talent programmes of work, with our industry account teams and other practice areas
  • Ability to anticipate and assimilate client requirements, win their trust and build enduring relationships to develop their business
  • Proactively manage senior client stakeholders, including delivering difficult messages and managing performance issues, up to C-Suite level
  • Design and deliver complex large-scale talent transformation programmes in a broad range of industry sectors

Practice and People management:
  • Identifies and discusses opportunities to delegate work to less experienced team members
  • Provides learning opportunities for less experienced team members and reviews delegated work
  • Provides timely, authentic and constructive feedback to colleagues and seeks feedback in return
  • Assists with the integration, inclusion and wellbeing of team members
  • Up to date with key technical and functional skills, and with industry, business skills & knowledge - and shares this expertise with others
  • Encourages development of team members though formal and informal coaching
  • Reinforces our values, through day to day behaviour and critique disrespectful behaviour

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Highly experienced management consultant / HR professional with relevant experience of talent transformation programmes and business change projects is essential. We would consider significant experience from industry.
  • A proven track record of shaping, winning and managing complex, high profile, profitable talent advisory engagements which create value for clients in the areas outlined above
  • Demonstrable track record of building lasting client relationships, winning new business and developed existing accounts
  • A proven track record of proactively managing senior client stakeholders, including providing constructive change, influencing decisions, providing robust advice, delivering difficult messages and managing performance issues, up to C-Suite level

Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Experience of working on projects gained working within a professional services firm, global consultancy firm and/or large private and/or public sector organisations
  • A primary degree and any post graduate degrees and professional qualifications e.g. CIPD, Occupational Psychology and certifications in psychometrics.
