The Senior Manager serves as a key member of the EU Wayfair Delivery Network (WDN) Strategy & Finance team on supporting the leadership on growth in new geographies, adding new services, new brands and expanding business in an efficient way.

Wayfair Delivery Network (WDN) is Wayfair’s proprietary large parcel delivery network. Delivery is a core operational function at Wayfair. Selected candidate will get an opportunity to contribute to growth of a carrier network i.e. scaling it in the UK and the EU and integrate with our large US WDN operations.

As part of the Strategy and Finance, we shape the roadmap for WDN. We expand into new geographies as Wayfair expands. We analyze internal data and competition to identify latent customer needs. Convert these needs to meaningful services and test the adoption through cross functional projects. We will collaborate to scale up high adoption services and take WDN to newer geographies within the EU.

We create forecasts of our volumes, costs and set targets for key performance indicators. We monitor the performance and iterate on our plans to make WDN efficient and a carrier of choice delivering an exceptional Customer Experience.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Evaluate growth opportunities for WDN including detailed financial analysis/ business cases
  • Market Research, Competition Benchmarking and Internal data analysis to get meaningful insights
  • Project manage launch of new opportunities, monitor performance/ KPIs during initial launch phases
  • Activity Based Costing, Throughput Analysis, Rate Card and similar financial analysis
  • Provide analytic support to cross-functional projects and processes to improve overall performance of WDN
  • This is a high visibility role that requires to deliver a mix of day-today operational needs, short term priorities and long term projects.
  • Few thought initiatives might have to be done individually and few with the analyst that will report into you.
  • Individual will collaborate with stakeholders within the EU WDN, Global WDN and broader Wayfair ecosystem.

Qualifications needed:

  • MBA or related Master Degree in Business, Economics, Operations, Transport, etc.
  • ~7-10 years of experience in Financial and Business Analytics with performance management expertise
  • Prior experience in Management Consulting will be an added advantage.

  • Good analytical skills with expertise in tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, Google Studio, Tableau, etc.
  • Must be detail oriented with optimal organizational skills; with a focus on teamwork and follow-up
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, to prioritize those tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach and people orientation to getting things done
  • Desire and ability to learn quickly with strong appetite for knowledge
  • Highly energetic, self-motivated & ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
