Would you like to be part of a team producing life saving medicine? Torbay Pharmaceuticals(TP) are looking for a Senior Operator within the Packaging Team, this is a full time permanent position.

If you are successful you’ll become part of a 30 strong team who really make a difference world wide.

You will be required to work shifts - Early/Late weekly rotation - Monday to Friday

Early: 06:30 – 14:45

Late: 11:45 – 20:00

Main duties of the job

The primary purpose of the Packaging Senior Operator is to work as a member of a team processing, inspecting, labelling, packing, serialising and storing pharmaceutical products in compliance with all manufacturing SOP’s, Batch packaging records, in line with H&S requirements and following Pharmaceutical cGMP.

To be a member of the Operations team that will create and drive a culture in order to meet and exceed the business objectives of being a Class leading Pharmaceutical business within the NHS, setting high standards of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality Management System (QMS), and Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).

To be an ‘area expert’ and carry out training for new or less experienced members of the team on complex equipment and processes within the pharmaceutical packaging area.

To operate Packaging equipment and carry out pharmaceutical inspection, labelling, packing and serialising processes under strict cGMP guidelines and regulations required to produce pharmaceutical products.

To complete packaging tasks within the working day, whilst working to tight deadlines in order to meet the requirements of the schedule.

To complete pharmaceutical packaging processes on a commercial scale by using a mixture of manual and automated equipment to inspect, label, pack and serialise pharmaceutical and medical device products.

Qualifications & Skills
Essential criteria

  • GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
  • Basic IT Training

Desirable criteria

  • Management or leadership skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Moving and Manual Handling knowledge
  • H&S understanding
  • Knowledge of Quality Management systems

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of Home Office Controlled drug requirements.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Understanding of the Principles of Lean

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working with machinery in a previous role
  • Working with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions
  • Previous experience in a Quality-focused role

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of fault-finding and resolving issues on machinery
  • Experience of working with ERP system/s
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Experience and a detailed understanding of the regulatory standards related to manufacturing and associated procedures.
