About Us

My client is at the forefront of its industry and has experienced exponential growth since its establishment almost twenty years ago.

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Logistics Co-ordinator to optimise and ensure the operational efficiency by creating and following a lean and continuous improvement culture within the cross functional teams. The Logistics Co-Ordinator will work closely with internal and external parties to manage day to day logistics activities.

Job Tasks

  • Manage inbound shipments via sea and air freight, all countries.
  • Deal with Air freight, Ocean freight, customs including all related documentation. Track shipments, providing regular updates when required
  • Understand product range in view of using to lowest tax commodity code number.
  • Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Supporting account managers and internal departments with costing and quotes for customer tenders.
  • Ensure all planned logistics activities, based on the business rules and requirements are completed to cost, quality and time.
  • Analyse and report logistic invoicing variances, focused on any additional charges
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks
  • Follow up and expedite deliveries with approved freight/Parcel forwarders to ensure customer on time delivery achieved target.
  • Administrate all payment schedules to support stock fulfilment requirements in a timely manner.
  • Ensure data accuracy submitted by the authorised shipping agent in import duty and VAT.
  • Supplier invoicing reconciliation and follow up to resolve any discrepancy issues.
  • Ensure up to date import/export harmonised code and import/export duty rates on the ERP database.

Person Specification

  • Integrity and professional and positive disposition
  • Experience of 3PL operations UK & ROW
  • Tenacity, confidence, and initiative to meet or exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills such as professional telephone manner and building and developing relationships with customers internal and external.
  • A high standard of literacy to ensure effective written communication with a range of people, both internally and externally
  • A high standard of numeracy to analyse sales figures and produce insightful reports.
  • Proficient IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package (Outlook, TEAM, MS Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, warehouse, and inventory computer systems.
  • ERP system experience.
