Jacobs is working with several new nuclear reactor designers to undertake licensing activities. To grow these services, we offer to existing and new clients, we are looking for people to join our team of safety case and licensing experienced professionals at all levels.
We are looking for Principal Engineers, Senior Engineers and Engineers with experience of the UK licensing process and interfacing with nuclear regulatory bodies who are looking to develop further in their careers. We are interested in people looking for staff roles with full time and part time working levels, including flexible working arrangements.
We are seeking general and more specific safety case authors, experienced with the claims, arguments and evidence approach, as well as subject matter experts across all the licensing workstreams. We would also be interested in hearing those involved in engineering design and substantiation of systems across the plant from concept to detailed design who have safety case, security case and environmental experience.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and internally to develop a business stream around nuclear licensing
- Provide licensing advice to nuclear power plant procurement / licensing, SMR and AMR technology, isotope production and research reactor programmes internationally
- Provide licensing advice to reactor vendors, developers, investors, nuclear site licence applicants and holders and regulators
- Undertake licencibility reviews of nuclear designs and licensing plans
- Development of licence compliance assessments
- Performance of readiness reviews
- Supporting clients with regulatory interface and regulatory trouble shooting
