Role Overview:


PlayStation is looking for a talented senior lawyer who wants to work developing and implementing strategies to protect the PlayStation brand, video-game products, and services as a member of the global SIE Legal IP & Business Affairs Team.


SIEE Legal IP & Business Affairs Department is based in London and has a key role in advancing and defining the commercial strategy of the PlayStation® business in EMEA, as well as dealing with the commercial and legal aspects of all transactions and the enforcement of its IPs and brand protection.

SIEE offers the opportunity to work in a technology company with an entertainment focus, in a casual environment that provides challenging legal issues. A good fit will love technology, cutting-edge legal issues and working closely with a diverse team.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing SIEE’s brand protection and enforcement strategy across the range of PlayStation products and services
  • Managing relationships with local counsel, investigators, and enforcement bodies in a wide range of jurisdictions across the world
  • Managing external vendors who monitor online platforms for infringing products
  • Work with Custom Agencies across the world on seizures and other anti-counterfeiting activities
  • Develop internal business relationships with colleagues across the global legal, marketing, licensing, third party, cybersecurity, operations, and developer support teams.
  • Analyse internal and external data to validate the enforcement strategies implemented.

What we are looking for?

  • A UK, European or Chinese legal qualification
  • A sound knowledge of IP Law
  • Brand and/or content protection knowledge
  • Experience of contentious IP and managing outside counsel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with an ability to foster and build good working relationships with other departments
  • Passion and enthusiasm for Technology
  • A creative problem solver
  • Knowledge or interest in the videogame industry
  • A good team player who is happy to work in a diverse global company
  • A willingness to guide and mentor junior colleagues.
  • A second language

  • Commercial contract drafting experience
  • Understanding of current IT issues and developments, including in the areas of outsourcing or E-commerce
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with an ability to foster and build good working relationships with other departments

  • Commercial acumen in performing an advisory role to all aspects of the business
  • Knowledge/interest in the videogames industry
  • Team worker with a sense of humour
  • 6 yr. pqe+
