JOB PURPOSE

Working on a variety of projects within a development team. Primarily working on a data collection application for Financial Reference Data. Development tasks are a mixture of new development and enhancement and maintenance of existing applications.

Responsibilities
  • Develops new systems or extensions to existing systems from supplied requirements and specifications in accordance with agreed standards
  • Adheres to change control and implementation procedures
  • Assists in estimating system and program development times and costs
  • Out of hours on call support for Production systems and occasional resolution of priority issues


Essential

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrable experience of applied knowledge and experience developing OO solutions using Java 8
  • Oracle RDBMS including PL/SQL
  • Java database APIs
  • Java Swing
  • Linux and scripting
  • Experience with source control systems (preferably GIT)
  • Junit and Mocking frameworks
  • Able to take on and understand the functionality of legacy systems
  • Applied experience with modern full software development lifecycle practices
  • Must be devoted to delivering high quality and well-tested software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player who collaborates effectively with other software engineers
  • Self-starter, who is both disciplined and accountable for delivering accurate and timely results

  • Spring Framework/Spring Boot
  • ReactJS
  • Javascript
  • Experience of Java XML APIs
  • Git
  • Knowledge of Java concurrency frameworks.
