That’s why our team of troubleshooting service desk engineers are key to the success of our organisation, helping staff to resolve technological issues, speedily and with care.

One of our Senior Service Desk Engineers has secured an exciting new role in the organisation, so we’re looking for someone new to fill his shoes. He’ll be a hard act to follow but if you are customer-focused, with solid experience as a Senior IT Engineer with some team leader or management experience, consider joining our team.

In order to meet the needs of the organisation you will be required to work weekly rotating shifts of 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm and 10am – 6pm. This is a hybrid role, with team members working one week at Ullenwood and one week remotely from home. On occasions you may also be required to travel to our other sites in Herefordshire and Wales.

We expect you to have the following key skills:

Technical Experience

Understand and have worked in a Windows environment with Windows 10 and Windows Server infrastructure, including AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SCCM and networking technologies to name a few.

Provide 3rd line technical escalation and be on hand to resolve more complex problems

Team Leadership

Take the lead in helping other team members to manage and prioritise their competing workload priorities

Manage, develop, and mentor less experienced service desk engineers

Customer service focus

Develop the service desk to meet the needs of National Star, analysing incidents that become problems, before working collaboratively to develop and implement long-lasting solutions.

The closing date for this position is 14 January 2022 with first stage “Teams” based interviews being conducted from early in the New Year through to the 14 January 2022 (get your application in early) and with “Teams” based panel interview on the 17 – 18 January.
