The Digital, Data & Technology Department (DDaT) is seeking to appoint a Senior IT Project Manager.

About the role

The University of Bath (UoB) is embarking on the next stage of its digital transformation journey. A key part of this is to transform the way in technology services are delivered. The Digital, Data & Technology Department (DDaT) is a passionate community of technical experts who provide digital, data and technology services that are accessible, relevant, and secure. We are motivated by helping people solve problems, be more effective in what they do today and innovating to raise the bar of what can be achieved in future.

Significant change in service provision is anticipated and it is vital to have effective, proactive engagement with other departments and faculties. This will address a key improvement required within the Evolution project to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver greater efficiency, coherence, cooperation and coordination.

The University of Bath’s Digital, Data and Technology department (DDaT) is responsible for the efficient delivery of IT infrastructure, digital products, and services; playing a vital part in enabling the University’s staff, students and researchers achieve its strategic goals.

This IT Senior Project Manager role is a key part of the University’s DDaT Team, reporting to the Lead Project Manager and the Head of IT Portfolio Management.

As IT Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of projects from requirements gathering and drafting the business case to defining the solution that meets our user’s needs, budget management, and delivery schedule, ensuring best in class delivery through to the in-life management process.

You will work closely with the Portfolio Management Office to embed and promote project lifecycle management and assurance and provide effective project reporting as required and requested both within DDaT and with external stakeholders.

You will have responsibility for managing projects, including the management of associated project teams, working together, and reporting progress to a Project Board. Effective engagement with project stakeholders will be essential.
