The Role

Join us as our Senior Infrastructure Engineer within the IT Operations Team.

As our Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for building, deploying, monitoring, and continually improving EV Cargo Technologys cloud environments. You will interact with a variety of stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, well documented, and delivered to the highest achievable standards.

You will also encompass coaching and developing colleagues within the IT Operations team in areas where knowledge can be effectively shared and enhanced ensuring that the team can continue to meet the needs of the business and its customers effectively.

The principal accountabilities required for this role will be Product Infrastructure, Infrastructure Research & Development, Project Infrastructure, and Infrastructure BAU

The Salary

Up to £75,000 dependant on experience

Where You Will Be Based

This role is hybrid with some travel required to our offices in Gerrards Cross.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

Practical knowledge of source control and repository systems such as Git to ensure consistent and efficient processes.

Working knowledge in the development of IaC as a concept and tools such as Terraform.

Applied knowledge of Microsoft solutions, including in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing Cloud-based solutions (DaaS, IaaS, and PaaS).

Practical knowledge of DevOps processes, practices and automation techniques.

Working knowledge of scripting / programming techniques in relation to deployment and automation.

Applied knowledge of deploying solutions to Microsoft Azure

Demonstrable understanding of current Information Security best practices and how EV Cargo Technology should apply this to maintain security standards.

Demonstrable understanding of network technologies as they relate to cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments to ensure you can act as a trusted partner in this area.

Ability to identify which tools are fit for purpose in automation and deployment activities (e.g. Terraform, PowerShell, Azure pipelines etc) to ensure best practice at all times.

Capable of using Cloud based or other appropriate tools to develop robust and repeatable pipelines enhancing reliability and perception with clients.

Excellent planning and organisational skills with consistent attention to detail.

Able to relay complex information clearly and simply, and adjust style as required for technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to absorb new concepts and information quickly.

Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen and respond appropriately to customers and all levels of management and other colleagues.

Able to plan effectively for defined project activities whilst accommodating spontaneous items when business priorities change.
