Purpose:

  • Reporting to the CISO, you will be responsible for managing the performance of the IT service and technical ERP delivery functions across multiple time zones.
  • Has strong technical skills and experience which are applied to implementing, managing and maintaining core ERP and network infrastructure systems, whilst communicating results to business stakeholders, support teams, and network providers.
  • To monitor and maintain an ERP Oracle and SharePoint based system into all service and technology driven solutions.
  • Deputising for and supporting the CISO as required to provide a 24/7 IT service provision.
  • To be comfortable with contributing towards the strategic direction of the business to achieve ambitious business plans, goals and objectives.
  • Requires proven experience in a global environment, applying in-depth knowledge.
  • Role is based in Chelmsford.

Key Deliverables:

  • Strong leadership and management of development resources and suppliers to provide Group support.
  • Maintain and implement high quality operational standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Diagnose and solve problems, frequently under time constraints and business pressure.
  • Adherence to strict budget requirements and identifying cost saving opportunities across the Group.
  • Development of business cases to implement new initiatives, along with driving, managing and supporting the team during large projects.
  • Experience in hiring, training and developing teams. To build trustworthy relationships within the business to leverage the best way IT can provide solutions.
  • Develop reporting in conjunction with the Finance Management team.
  • Ability to break down organisational silo’s by removing barriers, automating processes and workflows.
  • To advise on best IT practices and deliverables through use of ITIL and other frameworks.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • To promote company values and lead the team to successful conclusions.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • At least 10 years+ of IT experience in complex development environments.
  • Experience in offshore / marine sectors is desirable.
  • Certified Oracle qualifications version 19c and above.
  • Practical working knowledge of:
  • Oracle based products
  • Microsoft technologies, incl SharePoint / 365 / Teams
  • Networking protocols for ERP systems
  • Identity Management (Active Directory, Azure AD, 2FA,)
  • Operating systems (Microsoft Server and Desktop)
  • Basic dev/ops methodologies, including sprints, scrums, and workflows (ITIL, Six Sigma, COBIT 5).
  • Experience of ERP system upgrades from solution selection, design, project planning and implementation.
  • Working Knowledge of IFS v10 Aurena is desirable.
  • Strong experience in dealing with IT supplier contracts and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to manage, develop and maintain strong trustworthy internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to manage escalations of critical technical issues through to timely resolution.
  • Self-starter and excellent organisational skills. Able to think outside the box to create innovative solutions.
  • Passion for technology and the ability to pick up new technical skills fast.
  • Ability and willingness to travel worldwide and to vessels, as required.
