Overview
In the UK we have 1000+ employees across the UK. In Scotland we have our Glasgow and Greenock offices. The UK HRBP team is part of the wider International Health and Europe and Global Segments (EGS) HR team, so the UK HR team will also be involved in the wider scope of HR strategy and execution in line with the business needs and structure. This role will be expected to contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of the end-to-end delivery of the UK-based employees’ life cycle, as well as be the lead for certain global business segments/ functions partnering with local HR teams elsewhere and e xpected to positively influence outcomes and adopting HR best practice routinely.

You will be expected to a ct as a true business partner and be recognised internally as a subject matter expert. Cigna is a matrixed organisation; some Managers of UK employees are based outside of the UK and some UK Managers have people they manage in other countries around the world. You will be required to work outside the UK time zone as required and some travel to other company locations outside of the UK is possible. As we have 2 offices in Greenock and Glasgow you will be expected to work a minimum of 2 days in the offices split across both locations and more as project and priority work demands.

The Senior HR Business Partner (advisor) is responsible for assisting in the drafting and development of the HR strategies, policies, guidelines, and programs for the HR specialty areas especially engagement, performance management, employee relations, compensations, benefits, and other technical HR duties. You will work alongside a team of HRBPs, in collaboration with the HR COE functions.

The role holder is expected to:
Successful stakeholder management and anticipating requirements in partnering with business leaders and their management teams to discuss the strategy to enhance employee productivity and retention, employee engagement, and relationships.

Provide coaching and mentoring for the UK HRBP team in the delivery of HR priorities and initiatives.

Build collaborative and sustainable partnerships with HR COE’s and other internal and external stakeholders and partners.

Collaborate and effectively influence line managers and business executive leaders to interpret the HR processes, business objectives and goals, challenges, and the concerns with a business-enabling mindset.

Significantly contribute to long-term goals around business and people development including all aspects of HR accountabilities including wellbeing, HR policies, compliance and governance, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on actions required, and driving the mindset and role model of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.

Generate proposals and manage people metrics required to diagnose issues and eradicate the root cause of challenges by offering solutions to the business and promote insight-driven culture.

Generate engagement (and retention) initiatives by reviewing and defining the employees’ journey and experience.

Provides coaching, mentorship, and guidance for employees as well as the executives to target better performance.

Effectively engage and guide the business executives and leaders in support of optimizing the company’s structure and framework.

Develops and researches HR strategies and policies to improve them and align them with the business needs.

Serve as an HR acquisition and integration specialist to manage the human resource part for the strategical integrations and employee acquisitions. Previous experience of large TUPE related projects preferred as well as large scale transformation programmes.

Ensuring high standards of HR service delivery and excellence are always consistently met.

Lead or involve in projects as and when required.

Any ad-hoc duties required by the business and the HR communities.
Job Requirements

Significant experience gained in HR ideally in HR generalist roles with considerable experience working with directors and managers across different countries and cultures preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or Higher.

CIPD Level 7 or equivalent.

Experience in financial institutions and working under a matrixed environment will be an advantage.

Considerable knowledge of UK and EU employment law and regulations and able to interpret and provide practical solutions focussed to secure commercial success, reduce costs and mitigate risks.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficiency in advanced Excel essential as is Word and PowerPoint functions with experience to make insight-driven decisions and presentation; knowledge of Workday is a plus.

Proven organizational skills with leadership capabilities.

Solid knowledge of employment legislation for UK, and in-depth knowledge of legal technicalities and requirements for employee day-to-day work responsibilities to ensure regulatory compliance.

Experience working in the technical and complex matrix working environment.

Strategic mindset and strong executional abilities.
