VELUX are looking for a motivated Senior HR Business Partner, who is passionate about understanding and partnering with the business to match business strategy to our people development needs.

This role will see you become part of the HR Team in region North West Europe, and you will partner up with the Operations division of our business in Great Britain and Ireland (GB&I) and our Regional Operations management team.

This is a true generalist role, which will see you handle a busy operational workload covering the full range of HR topics such as employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, absence management, compensation and benefits, reporting, training and development etc.

A key part of the role is also working in close collaboration with leaders across the business in a strategic way. This will involve your business acumen and strong stakeholder management, to work with managers to translate their business challenges into concrete HR initiatives. You will challenge and work together with them in ensuring the best possible balance between people and business, focusing on making the right decisions and executing the best plans and actions.

You will join VELUX at a critical time. We have recently established Regional Operations. While the structural changes are already implemented, you will have a key focus on embedding the structure through your change management skills, experience of re-organisation processes and experience in matrix organisation.

A key benefit of joining the business at this exciting time is the ability to be at the forefront of change within the HR function, and the opportunity to establish and demonstrate the value of strategic HR partnering.

Your approach to providing support inspires trust and involves coaching and motivational initiatives. It is natural for you to establish relations with leaders and teammates, where you demonstrate a true interest in their business challenges, and where you are proactive in supporting them the best way possible.

You present yourself as dedicated and influential and have an ability to combine great listening skills with a convincing approach to influence stakeholders.

You will be a strong team player who motivates and supports your colleagues. You also see the importance of accountability and ownership of tasks and projects, and you always deliver what you say you will.

Working in a change-oriented business is something which motivates you, and you can see the benefit of embracing new ways of thinking and working.

To be successful in the job, we expect you to bring a proven track record in the fundamental HR disciplines, as well as being able to :

  • Demonstrate solid experience acting as a trusted advisor to leaders - experience partnering within matrix organization is advantageous.
  • Be organised, driven and able to work autonomously and under your own motivation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidently work with all HR matters such as Employee Relations, Absence Management, Compensation & Benefits, Training & Development etc.
  • Possess a fully stocked HR toolbox and an understanding of HR processes such as people and organisation reviews and people development.
  • Demonstrate first class communication and presentations skills, written and verbal.
  • Work with HR data and metrics, seeing HR data as appealing and a value-adding asset.
  • Demonstrate your keen commercial awareness and ability to view the business as a whole – not just through an HR lens.
  • Be CIPD certified and possess experience of working with psychometric testing – advantage.

Our ideal candidate must also have a valid driving licence and passport and be willing and able to commit to both domestic and international travel of approximately 30 days across the year.

Taking up this position, you will join a dedicated local team in Glenrothes and work closely with both regional and global HR teams, gaining the advantages of a global people strategy, a high level of professionalism and shared data systems and performance metrics.

You will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues – in a setting where knowledge is shared, and responsibility is given to those who can and will. Our team is characterised by an informal tone and respect for each other both as team players and as individuals.

What you get in return:

  • competitive salary

  • access to a Workplace Nursery benefit.
