Overall Purpose of Senior Highways Agreements Engineer:

Under the general management of Highway Agreement Manager – Transport Development & Streetworks Management be responsible for providing an effective service covering all aspects of Development Agreements in relation to residential development works and internal/external Highway creation projects proposed across the Borough.
Undertaking Technical Approvals of Section 38 and Section 278 Highway Works which may range from a simple pedestrian crossing facility feature to minor and major infrastructure delivery works for urban extensions.
Responsibilities include interpreting, advising and applying national and corporate guidance to help formulate the Council’s Policy & working practices in the delivery of the professional and technical services provided by the team to internal and external clients.

Experience & Qualifications:

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and have a degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Alternatively, you will be qualified to HND/HNC level qualification.
Member of the Institution of Highway Engineers/Chartered Institute of Highways and Transport/Institution of Civil Engineer or equivalent, or ability to join.
Significant proven experience of technical approval of major transportation projects under Section 38 and 278 of the Highway Act 1980.
