Do you understand the importance of testing products and/or services primarily for safety, efficiency, and fit for purpose? Due to a huge period of growth within BSI, we’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer – Gas Appliancesto join our existing team and carry out test work on a defined range of products.

The Senior Test Engineerwill be responsible for the following:
  • Complete desk based and practical laboratory testing and evaluation of gas appliances to check compliance with defined multi-national Test Standards, procedures or client needs
  • Ensure accurate, traceable records & results are generated & maintained
  • Liaise with the calibration department and operational support team to ensure the correct use of test rigs and equipment
  • Produce high quality test reports in a timely manner and provide project status updates as required
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the lab, office and for all electronic filing/data storage
  • Report and escalate test issues and non-conformances to Manager when required
  • Support the preparation of quotations and lead generation
  • Use experience as a technical expert to review Test Standards, write test procedures, prepare risk assessments, and safe systems of work for your area as a subject matter expert
To be successful in the role, you should possess the following:
  • HNC/HND or equivalent industry experience in a test environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years knowledge/experience of evaluating and testing gas products using gas appliance Test Standards
  • Strong writing skills - to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team to tight time scales
  • Knowledge of PAS4444 and/or Hydrogen appliance testing, desired
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 14001, and ISO 450001 is advantageous
