We will, however need your base ’home’ location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.Salary: Competitive + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableThe purpose of this role is to provide financial analysis and modelling expertise to enable SSE Group to enter the Interconnector markets (standard and multi-purpose). The technology would consequently encompass both HVDC and AC transmission both on land and at sea. The knowledge and credibility of the Senior Financial Modeller/Analyst will be key for the SSE Interconnector team to validate and develop financial solutions for the Interconnector (IC) and Multipurpose Interconnectors (MPI) market.This is a key role for SSE as it will have a significant part to play in developing financial models to support the growth of the SSE Interconnector business. It will report jointly to the Management Team within SSE Enterprise’s Interconnector Business and to the Director of Commercial for Enterprise.Role Responsibilities- Analyse overall project requirements, define inputs and assumptions required to build financial models for IC & MPIs.
- Build, review and evaluate detailed financial models.
- Analyse and review the electricity market and regulations to understand their impact on commercial returns.
- Collaborate with SSE partners, contractors, and consultants in the development of financial models.
- Manage and maintain key data used as inputs to financial models such as commodity data (electricity), country evaluations, sector, and competitor fundamentals etc.
- A good understanding of the energy sector, the main markets, and how they are likely to change over time.
- Understanding of key electricity infrastructure and related technologies such as power generation, transmission, distribution, and storage, and their impact on financial models.
- Practical experience of financial modelling. Have developed financial models for at least one major energy project.
- Knowledge of electricity regulations and trading arrangements.
- Strong business acumen and interest in investment culture.
- An understanding of the regulatory and business models associated with offshore or onshore transmission systems.
