The Role

To provide high quality financial support to the Global Retail Director and the Property team that manage the global store estate. This is a pivotal role in guiding strategic and operational decision making through financial review and analysis. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance and business partnering with the Property function, this broad role encompasses all financial aspects of property management for the global store estate and head office locations. Investment appraisal, post implementation review and driving down occupancy costs are key activities in this varied, high profile and stretching role with exposure to the CEO and CFO on a regular basis.

You Will

  • Be the key finance business partner for the property function, working closely with the property team and Global Retail Director
  • Be accountable for the investment appraisal of new store opportunities, downsizes, lease regears and relocation decisions
  • Provide high quality post investment appraisal analysis
  • Be key to the strategic assessment of the store estate (including pivotal involvement in the planning & strategy process)
  • Manage and monitor progress against financial deliverables within the property strategy, feeding in to financial management processes
  • Be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and reporting all occupancy costs across the business
  • Play a key role in ensuring the financial records are accurate and up to date, working closely with the Management Accounting and Accounts Payable functions

You Are

  • A qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA preferred); experience in Retail sector or property management would be highly desirable
  • Highly commercial, with strong analytical ability and experience of investment appraisals
  • Experienced in producing valuable insight, critiquing business cases and working with large volumes of data
  • A structured, logical thinker who can solve problems and adapt to business needs
  • Proactive, driven, resilient and able to work under your own initiative
  • An effective communicator, with the ability to change your approach depending on audience
  • Someone who thrives in a high profile role with tight deadlines, and able to balance the need for rapid response and maintaining accuracy / quality of outputs
  • A confident individual, capable of dealing with Exec level challenge
  • A team player, who can work with financial and non-financial colleagues at all levels of an organisation
