Job Summary

The holder will lead Safeguard’s Financial Planning & Analysis function for designated areas of ownership. Proactively identifying and driving actionable opportunities to improve Revenue and EBITDA to completion.

Holder to work with peers in Finance and other area Business Partners to understand drivers behind results, and craft ‘the story’ around performance in monthly reviews and presentations.

This position is responsible for supporting and collaborating with assigned Business Partners with EBITDA maximization and Revenue Growth as the top priorities.

Owns budget and monthly forecasts for designated areas of ownership and drives the process to ensure both timeliness, assessment of R&O’s and realization of key results.

Main Tasks

  • Primary finance business partner for commercial leaders in reporting, analysing and monitoring performance to plan and forecast for revenue.
  • Tracks pipeline, opportunities and challenges with achieving forecast commitments.
  • Recommend actionable opportunities and improvements that will improve EBITDA and Revenue and helps drive them to completion.
  • Collaborate with Commercial leaders in analysing margin impacts of make vs. buy choices/alternatives to bottom line financial implications.
  • Develop tools to assist with analysing cost variances for monthly reporting and overall improvement of standard cost.
  • Support the development and monitoring of the standard costing model and process for maintaining standards in the sites’ respective ERP systems.
  • Assist accounting team with updating product standard cost for new and existing products.
  • Provide support for process improvement and product development teams.
  • Design routine and ad hoc analysis and reports related to revenue by product, by channel and inventory, standard cost, and product and processing costing.
  • Effectively presents and communicates complex financial topics to the Executive team and Business Partners in a way that is easily understood.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all assigned Business Partners, working collaboratively to achieve results.
  • Collaborates with FP&A teammates and the Accounting team to provide comprehensive, seamless financial analysis to the entire company.
  • Learns and leverages the company’s tools, technology, and operating mechanisms.
  • Develops, maintains and continuously improves financial report packages and ad hoc reporting tools that are used by Business Partners throughout the company.
  • Serve as an evangelist for democratisation of information, collaborating directly with internal customers to encourage, train and enable usage of financial information in both guided and self-serve formats.
  • Work with Business Partners to develop budgets and forecasts that achieve targets and ensure that the company is investing in the most impactful areas.
  • Assess and detail understanding of risks and opportunities for all assigned areas.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and projects based on the needs of the business.
  • Support the monthly Financial close, and lead assigned portions of internal close reviews, primarily preparation of variance analyses and monthly business review analysis.
  • Develops and maintains detailed desk procedures for position and ensures the same is done for any direct reports.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent analytical degree required. MBA, CPA, CMA or CA preferred.
  • 4+ years of finance, accounting or relevant technical/analytical experience required.
  • Extensive Financial modeling and forecasting experience required.
  • Advanced Excel Skills, and high level of systems proficiency required.
  • Experience in executing or accounting for complex engineering/manufacturing operations (nested BOMs, process and discrete manufacturing processes), with finance/analytical role in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience managing others strongly preferred.
  • Adaptive Insights experience preferred.
