Job description

Our client, is looking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager. The position will be based at there Head Office in Northamptonshire and you will report directly into the Finance Director.

The business has experienced unprecedented growth over the last 18 months with further growth expected. The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily finance operations, improving existing procedures and controls, and delivering robust and accurate financial reporting. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the finance operations of an ambitious IT & Services business. It will initially require the individual to be very hands on, working in a fast-paced environment. With future growth anticipated, there is plenty of potential for development

Main duties:

  • Managing the day-to-day Accounts function as main point of contact for other departments and managing workload of the team
  • Supervising and developing a team of four staff
  • Preparing monthly financial results of the business, ensuring they are accurately produced, on time and in accordance with Company accounting policies
  • Reviewing bank and key balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing and approving supplier payment runs and providing cover for purchase ledger and bank transaction processing
  • Reviewing monthly payroll and providing cover for the payroll processing
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of external reporting requirements, such as VAT, Intrastat and HMRC reporting
  • Ensuring all tax submissions and payments are processed accurately and within prescribed deadlines, to include corporation tax, P11D’s and PSA
  • Identify and implement working capital improvements, whether through more efficient stock holdings, improved credit control or better supplier payment terms
  • Main point of contact with external auditors with responsibility for delivering an annual audit file and providing any required information

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous exposure to NetSuite would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Plenty of drive and enthusiasm with a quick grasp of technical issues and ability to solve problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of software products and experience in systems implementation and integration
  • Strong communication skills to engage with other departments and drive tasks to completion
  • Previous experience of leading a finance team with a hands-on approach would be desirable
