Senior Finance Assistant| FinTech| Manchester

The client

Harmonic is working with an exciting Financial Tech start-up located in central Manchester.

Currently working towards Series B fundraising the client is expanding rapidly with an expected turnover of £8 million by the end of the year and a target to make £15 million by 2024. Recently, the client has been listed on several high growth lists and is expected to triple its headcount in 2023. This is all alongside an ambitious aim to expand and enter new markets in mainland Europe.

The role

This role has extensive opportunities for developing your knowledge in both finance and the FinTech industry. You will be working closely with the management accountant alongside a relatively small finance team who will provide support and learning opportunities. The role will be varied due to the nature of a start-up but will focus on bookkeeping, month-end processes, and eventual ownership of the day-to-day transactional finance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ownership of day-to-day transactional finance
  • Assisting senior finance members on the production of the monthly management reports
  • Credit control
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting
  • Manage the finance mailbox
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team to best aid the business as it grows

Required experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel skills
  • Highly intelligent and ambitious
  • Enthusiastic to learn
  • At least 2 years’ experience

Preferred experience

  • Working towards ACCA or CIMA
  • Experience in the Tech or start-up space
  • A keen interest in financial innovation

Salary: 25,000-30,000 dependent on experience
