37 Hours per week/ Fixed Term post until 31st December 2023

The University of Wolverhampton has been successful in a bid for Government funding awarded via Innovate UK to carry out research on a new material for hard paved surfaces like footpaths and driveways and seeks a capable engineering technician to join the project team.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with SJH Driveways Ltd, specialists in the installation of resin-based aggregates. The new material ‘Envirosurface’ is designed to be thermally reflective and absorb less solar energy, thereby contributing to mitigation of global warming.

The Senior Engineering Technician will work in our engineering laboratories and workshops across two campuses of the university, responsible for preparation of material test specimens, carrying out thermal and mechanical testing and writing test reports describing the performance of the materials.

We are looking for an individual who is confident and capable of working in an engineering laboratory environment, with high Health & Safety standards and knowledge of safe working requirements, and great attention to accuracy and detail.
