Senior Engineer – Software Management

Would you like to build on your experience supporting UK Defence? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer – Software Management at our site in Weymouth, Filton or BroadOak.

As a Senior Engineer – Software Management, you will be supporting the Dreadnought Combat Systems Software Manager in controlling the build and licencing for the Combat Systems Software.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a programme with longevity of contract and programme security.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer – Software Management will involve:
  • Advising Technical Authorities and Deputy Technical Authorities on interpretation and acceptance of Software deliverables ensuring the delivered solutions meet the specified contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Being the interface to subcontractors on interpretation and acceptance of Software requirements
  • Interfacing with the Customer on interpretation and acceptance of Software requirements
  • Working closely with Design Assurance team to ensure a consistent approach to the above
  • Monitoring Combat System software build and Software Factory output
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of Software Management strategies, policies, guidance and awareness

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer – Software Management:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience of requirements management in DOORS
  • Broad knowledge/experience of Software development lifecycle
  • Role requires strong communication, diplomacy and interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge of DEVOPS (Software Factory) and baseline management an advantage

Salary: £45 000

Integrated Combat Systems

Integrated Combat Systems is part of BAE Systems Submarines. We predominantly supply to the UK MoD but with smaller derivative work done in support of international Customers. Our team is responsible for system design, build and/or procurement of the major electronic and mechanical systems on a submarine, as well as provision of test, integration and support services.
