Are you a self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable engineer looking for a new challenge? Our client is looking for a Senior Model Based Systems Engineer to join their Team in Leicestershire to develop and enforce the systems engineering lifecycle.

The role

As Senior Model Based Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing customer facing features from early definition to complete system requirements for production programmes. You will develop engineering deliverables such as Feature Definition, System Definition, Logical Architecture, Requirements and Specifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Defining and modelling features and systems using the PREEvision toolchain
  • Following the feature definition and system definition process
  • Capturing feature definition documentation
  • Modelling and Integrating systems, capturing logical architecture and system diagrams
  • Considering fault handling and diagnostics
  • Modelling CAN and LIN bus communications
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Applying systems engineering and problem-solving tools where necessary
  • Delivering new technology projects and coordinate work streams
  • Engaging in continual improvement activities to advance departmental procedures

The requirements

You’ll be proficient in Systems design including modelling UML/SYSML. Other requirements include:

  • BEng or MEng in Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience
  • Knowledge in Natural Language requirements writing
  • Experience leading and influencing others with regards to Systems Engineering best practice
  • Experience using requirements management tools
  • Knowledge of CAN and experience of PREEvision are desirable
  • Previous experience of working within an automotive environment is desirable
  • Excellent computer literacy skills (MS Office)
  • Self-motivated, resilient, flexible, and adaptable
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to undertake UK and overseas travel as required
