Job content

Padd Energy is recruiting for talented and highly motivated individuals at Engineer and Senior Engineer level to join our existing teams in Glasgow, Harrogate, North Wales and North West England in order to support the continued expansion of our project portfolio across the UK and worldwide, assisting our Clients towards achieving Net Zero emissions.

Working with organisations across public and private sectors, we operate along the full project life cycle, from due diligence and strategic planning, to feasibility assessment, design delivery and Owners Engineer roles. Our current project portfolio includes high profile Clients such as The Energy Systems Catapult, Nestlé UK, Arla Foods, Vital Energi, Equans (Engie) and prestigious University Institutions, amongst a range of other exciting organisations.

Candidates should have an appreciation of the wider energy system and how this is changing and adapting as we decarbonise. Experience of developing Net Zero route maps, renewable energy technologies, electricity & heat networks and built environment energy efficiency would be highly beneficial.

Candidate requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or near-Chartered in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Process, Building Services or related disciplines;
  • Excellent track record in managing health, safety, environmental and quality risks on behalf of Clients;
  • Knowledge of the design and application of a range of technologies including heat pumps, biomass, solar and wind and their integration in both utility-scale and decentralised power networks (design experience up to RIBA Stage 2/3 or beyond would be beneficial);
  • Technical modelling skills and in particular use of industry standard energy modelling software, such as EnergyPro or equivalent;
  • Experience of advising clients in the delivery of Net Zero strategies, including the preparation of business cases and economic models and subsequently managing stakeholders through delivery and execution;
  • Ability to co-ordinate technical specialists and manage cost, schedule and risk on multi-disciplinary consultancy projects;
  • First-rate communication skills.

We offer a competitive benefits package that can be tailored to suit the individual. All staff are included in our discretionary bonus scheme and for appropriately qualified candidate’s other options such as car allowances are available.

To help achieve an all-important work/life balance our staff can choose from options such as home working, flexible start/finish times and compressed hours.
