An exciting opportunity has a risen for a Senior Engineer to join the Highways Team in Saltash Cornwall. In this role you will carry out highway scheme identification, study work and prepare detailed designs for maintenance and improvement schemes.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Engineer you will be required to manage/mentor other staff in the highways design team and stand in for the Team Leader whenever necessary. Other elements of the role will include the need to design and deliver cost effective, buildable and technically sound design solutions for Trunk Road Highway schemes in accordance with the forward programme. You will contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by designing, developing and overseeing sound design solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale, following Kier processes and procedures as well as any client specific requirements. Carrying out the checking and certifying of design deliverables (including drawings specifications, certificates, reports, and contract documents), and authorising where appropriate.

What do we need from you?

Degree/Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent. C Eng/I Eng with appropriate Institution (ICE, CIHT, RGS, CIWEM) is desirable or working towards achieving this. Knowledge of National highways design using DMRB and other Highways England standards. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. Hold a CSCS card qualification and have a detailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM . Full UK driving licence.
