Ninewells Nursery require an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our Pre-School on a full-time basis.
Ninewells Nursery is committed to providing families with high quality, flexible care, and education under the supervision of highly trained and motivated staff. We are dedicated in providing a safe and nurturing environment which allows children to feel happy and relaxed in order for them to reach their full potential.
The preferred candidate will be a highly motivated and professional individual who has a real passion for working with children and providing fun, relevant, and stimulating activities to allow the children to thrive.
The preferred candidate will have:
· A successful two years of experience of leading and role modelling to a staff team.
· Experience of working in the Early Years sector in a senior or lead role would be beneficial, however EYP’s looking to take the next step of their career should apply.
· A sound knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence.
· Knowledge and understanding of current documents – Realising the Ambition, Health and Social Care Standards, How Good is Our Early Learning and Childcare, Out to Play and more.
· Excellent communication skills.
· The ability to work within a team as well as use their own initiative.
· The ability to lead and motivate a team of practitioners whilst encouraging positive relationships.
· The ability to create strong bonds with children and their families.
· A strong interest in outdoor play and understanding of its benefits.
· A strong interest in loose parts play and an understanding of its benefits.
· Knowledge of responsive planning, evaluating, and recording learning experiences.
· Knowledge of observing, monitoring, and tracking children’s development.
· Experience in being inspected by Care Inspectorate and/or HMIe would be advantageous.
Candidates should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3 or equivalent.
