We will, however need your base ’home’ location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.Salary: £55,573 - £63,643 and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableWhat is the Role?We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior DevOps Support Analyst, to join the SSE Energy Customer Solutions (ECS) IT DevOps Support Team based in Dublin and Reading. The DevOps Support Team manages multiple applications that are core to SSE ECS’s business while also providing support to applications that are shared across SSE by liaising with SSE Group IT Shared Services functions.Applications are hosted in a variety of environments including on premise, SSE UK Data Centres and cloud provisioned. The team work closely with key vendors and managed-service partners for all application related services including project delivery, change management and incident management.- This is a varied role, where you’ll take key responsibility for services within the DevOps Support Team, as well as liaising with third party vendors and internal service suppliers.
- You’ll work alongside and support DevOps Support Team members, while taking ownership for specific elements within the portfolio.
- You’ll also be required to plan, design, deliver and support key application support solutions.
- Play a key role in the smooth integration of business functions and the relevant IT resolver groups to ensure a seamless IT service is provided. You will also liaise with project delivery teams to ensure smooth transition into operational support to maximise support capabilities and minimise unplanned application downtime.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will manage a Continuous Service Improvement program, prioritising and scheduling implementation of small and large improvement initiatives to constantly improve on an excellent IT service delivery model.
- As SSE transitions to Agile working practices, you will be expected to support a transition of existing Operational support practices, into a more DevOps based approach championing culture and technology transformations within the organisation.
- A background in DevOps and Application Support across diverse environments, as well as team leadership experience would be preferred.
- A BSc qualification in Computer Science, or related discipline, a DevOps certification and/or an ITIL Management certification would also be useful.
- You’ll be a strong team player with a proven ability to work alongside others. You’ll need to enjoy working in a challenging environment where the focus is on application availability and uptime.
- In terms of technical knowledge, we’d love you to have good working knowledge of ITIL v4 Agile Service Delivery processes, IT Software Development Lifecycles and a broad technology background that lends itself to troubleshooting and incident management. Experience working with Agile and DevOps processes would be beneficial.
- Experience working with managed-service partners and vendor management, and the ability to document and present service improvement proposals and solutions to key business and IT stakeholders.
