My client is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to work as a leading member within a team of engineers designing medical devices. You will have strong industry experience in detailed product design and/or equipment design and extensive CAD experience. You will have proven leadership skills and previous experience in reviewing technical drawings. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and to work with a team of engineers of mixed disciplines and experience. Duties to Include (you will be supported and trained to carry out these duties)-Product Design of new medical devices- this can range from concepting design solutions and prototyping to verify design intent through to modifying designs for high volume manufacture.
  • Design, concept, and development of product manufacturing equipment.
  • Support the validation of production equipment.
  • Developing product test methods, data analysis and evaluation to determine or prove design performance and reliability.
  • Generating technical documentation including tolerance studies, risk management and material evaluations.
  • Working closely with clinicians or customers to gather the relevant information.
  • Engaging with relevant vendors and subcontractors to support project teams. Skills/Experience Required:
  • A Mechanical Engineering Degree, and HNC/HND or equivalent qualification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the relevant field or a similar role.
  • Extensive CAD experience (Solid works preferred). Confident creating models, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Strong industry experience in detailed product design and/or equipment design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Practical skills and “hands on” attitude are essential. Practical experience, such as machining toolmaking, prototyping, etc would be beneficial.
  • Proven leadership skills. Previous experience reviewing technical drawings is preferred. Start: ASAP Duration: Permanent
