We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our leading insurance business. As a Senior Data Engineer, You will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and architecture.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data management and processing and contribute to the development of innovative data-driven solutions.

The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, ideally with experience in SQL, Python and CI/CD tools. We are transforming our business, to a cloud based infrastructure, so experience with Azure and AWS is beneficial for the role. We are also, looking for, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. About the role

Design and implement scalable and robust data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to develop data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses.
Optimize and tune database queries, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to enhance data processing capabilities.
Develop and maintain documentation on data integration processes, data flows, and data lineage.
Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data engineering, recommending, and adopting best practices.

About you

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in data engineering, with a focus on data pipeline development and data integration.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and CICD tools or Databricks.
In-depth knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including database design and query optimization.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and identify patterns and trends.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
