To provide a qualified Clinical Psychology Service to patients of the nominated team(s) including the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service. To offer advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. To develop advanced skills in consultancy by implementing formal systems of consultancy within the nominated team(s), as directed and guided by your Locality Professional Lead and his/her deputies. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the postholder works.

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated clinical psychologist to join a busy and well respected Integrated Learning Disability Service, which covers the Lancashire locality, to cover Maternity leave within the Central Locality. We are very pleased to be able to offer a senior post, which would be based in the Central team. The Central post will cover the geographical area of Preston, Chorley and South Ribble and West Lancashire.

The successful candidate will be expected to take a specific clinical lead role in relation to psychological assessment, formulation and intervention with children and young people. You will contribute to the broader aims of the service through joint working, consultation, training, supervision and service development/research.

Training and professional development is supported and encouraged and the Trust has close links with all three North West Clinical Psychology Doctorate Courses.
