Overall SummaryThe Motor Finance Division is delivering a change portfolio over the coming years to deliver its strategic priorities of:
Protect, in order to preserve our valuable dealer relationships
Improve, to create new routes to market
Extend, to use our expertise to develop blue sky opportunities
This will be undertaken whilst remaining compliant in an increasingly challenging regulatory landscape.
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will play a pivotal part in further developing the Analytic capability of the business by developing both short term quick wins and be part of the long-term roadmap of developing and integrating the function with colleagues at Motor Finance and across the bank.
The individual will also be expected to take a customer centric and design thinking approach to the implementation of and enhancements to our insight products.
The candidate will be expected to work with the Lead Business Intelligence Analyst and the Business Intelligence Manager to enhance the capability of the Analyst function as well as develop and implement the Business Intelligence strategy.
Responsibilities
BI / Analytics
Support with defining and documenting business / project requirements
Design, develop and document ongoing changes to existing environment
Actively test development changes including team peer review, following deployment lifecycle process from development and test through to production releases
Help define, articulate and satisfy the analytic needs of the Dealer Management product team and the wider Motor Finance business
Support the business in understanding trends across the markets, as well as those specific to Motor Finance to determine the biggest opportunities and threats and their potential impact
People / Business
Establish and maintain excellent inter-departmental communications and relationships
Understand business objectives / processes and identify opportunities to translate these in to BI / Analytical solutions
Proactively drive improvement by monitoring trends, identifying opportunities, and highlighting risks
Adapt communication style and approaches to articulate findings, business impacts and recommendations confidently, in Lehman’s terms and effectively to senior management / stakeholders
Produce engaging presentations, reports, dashboards, and visualisations to provide actionable recommendations to the business
Pro-actively coach colleagues and business users on technologies and methodologies used
Display a ‘can do’ attitude to meeting stakeholder requirements, overcoming obstacles to delivery
Have the drive and determination to be a self-directed learner
We Would Love To Hear From You If
Experience working in a BI / Analytics environment in a development and support capacity
Experience running requirement and story boarding workshops to elicit the need of our end users, producing wireframes / mock-ups and delivering well considered and designed outputs
Customer centric approach to building insight products that leverage design thinking principles and apply best practice data visualisation techniques
Experience of embedding data visualisation in businesses
A good understanding of how to query data from relational databases using SQL
Experienced in the extraction and manipulation of data
A high level of creativity, drive, innovation and initiative; a self-starter with a constant desire to learn
Ability to work well within a team environment, building effective relationships with key stakeholders in the business

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
Understanding of Kimball methodology and data warehouse architectures
Experience designing and developing data models, star schemas, dimension and fact tables and slowly changing dimensions
Technical / database skills including Tableau, Business Objects CMC, IDT, Universe design, Web Intelligence, Alteryx
Experienced and competent in the use of statistical packages and techniques to build advanced analytical models (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, Python)
