Your Mission:

The Business Systems Analyst function is responsible for conducting various data analyses in support of Medidata’s clinical business intelligence goals and product strategies. The Business Systems Analyst will join Medidata’s Product Management team to help define and translate business requirements into functional specifications. This position is responsible for assisting product managers with complex designs and creating detailed functional specifications using Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Support the development and refinement of hypotheses related to clinical processes, outcomes, and associated correlations
  • Support and actively participate in the design and implementation of experiments to test defined hypotheses
  • Perform analyses and report outcomes related to defined experiments
  • Perform exploratory analyses within or across Medidata product databases and analytical tools
  • Work with R&D Engineering and Report Engineering staff to develop in-depth understanding product databases, UI and associated data models
  • Work closely with Medidata User Experience (UX) staff for report design
  • Follow the Software Development Life Cycle, when appropriate, to ensure all software is designed and developed in a controlled, validated environment
  • Participate in and support interaction with clients and end users to collect business requirements and business process needs
  • Learn product & user, Support product operations as a knowledgeable resource for product features and functions
  • Create detailed functional specifications based on established requirements for a product, Write feature files, Write user stories and feature files for product specifications, Develop specifications consistent with the product roadmap
  • Review & communicate UX needs
  • Be aware of department initiatives
  • Follow prioritization of backlog
  • Open to feedback & sharing experience
  • Requirements overview Agile Delivery

Your Competencies:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, sufficient to present to internal stakeholders
  • Analysis and problem solving skills to address core business problems
  • Planning and organization skills to manage individual responsibilities
  • Experience with one or more tools used for client presentations, collaboration with other teams, requirements management, workflow definition, product issue management, and testing requirements.

Your Education & Experience:
  • At least 7 years of professional background in a business analyst role
