Reports to Data Platform Manager

At the Aztec Group we credit our technology as one of the core ingredients to our award-winning outsourced solutions. We are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join our growing Data Platform team and help Aztec to deliver their exciting new technology strategy, leveraging Azure data platform services.

This role will centre on liasing with diverse stakeholders, compiling accurate requirements, analysing business and IT processes, creating and maintaining accurate documentation and reporting for our Azure Data Platform. Under the direction of an experienced Manager and with support for continuing professional development, the ideal candidate will become a key part of the Group’s Data Platform team.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as business analyst for a range of projects, operational improvements and change initiatives, i.e.:
    • Liase and collaborate with business users, subject matter experts, contractors and other stakeholders
    • Analyse systems and processes to drive system and operational change
    • Document business requirements, identifying and clarifying issues, risks and priorities
    • Contribute to planning activities to translate requirements into clear deliverables, which align with other projects and strategic goals, to deliver effective solutions
    • Proactively support initiatives throughout their lifecycle, monitoring issues, risks and changes, as well as performing, evaluating, and communicating thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development
    • Create and maintain documentation to support solution delivery e.g. design documents, wireframes, logs, trackers, process diagrams, policies, standards and user guides
    • Prepare regular and ad-hoc progress reporting
  • At all times, ensure compliance with Aztec’s Information Security Standards and Change Management Framework
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the evolving IT and data landscape through continual professional development
  • Operating within a Centre of Excellence, which includes advocating best practices, providing training, and sharing knowledge with peers

Skills, knowledge and expertise:
  • Proven experience working in a business analyst role
  • Experience using best-practice business analyst, project management and Agile development methodologies and techniques
  • Exposure to Azure services such as Purview, DevOps, and Power BI is an advantage
  • Understanding of the Financial Services industry and Fund Administration business i beneficial
  • Ability to compile accurate and concise technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in particular, the ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Attainment of or ambition to complete relevant professional certifications
