Job Description


Taylor & Francis are looking for a business analyst who can help us with an extensive demand pipeline of finance process automation projects. You’ll work with the core finance teams and the finance operations IT development team to understand, document and improve finance processes. You’ll also help with testing, training and troubleshooting. You should have experience in business analysis, process automation and finance reporting/operations and excellent communication skills. Alteryx, Power BI, and TM1 are the key tools that you will be using to drive process improvements.

This role will be hired on a hybrid basis with the successful applicant working approximately 1-2 days per week from our office in either Blackfriars, London or Milton Park, Oxfordshire, with the rest of the week worked remotely from home.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be responsible for engaging with a range of key senior stakeholders to analyse, document and define automation opportunities within both SSC (R2R / O2C) and FP&A Finance teams. Providing the interface between our customers and our internal with data and development teams to provide rigour, structure and governance in our project streams. This includes supporting day-to-day process optimisation alongside key project work servicing senior stakeholders within the Finance function.

Tasks are likely to include:

  • Business Analysis: Talk with the finance colleagues to identify and discuss their automation needs

  • ProcessImprovement: Streamline and discuss solutions with the development team

  • Documentation: Draw process maps and document requirements for the developers

  • Testing: Test the solutions and provide feedback

  • Communications: Help the customer and IT teams communicate effectively

  • Training: Provide training and support to finance team on the use of business analysis techniques, new tools and reporting platforms


Qualifications


The ideal candidate will have:

  • You have a solid track record of delivering successful finance technology automation projects as a business analyst
  • You can communicate effectively with stakeholders, developers, and end-users to understand their needs and expectations
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues and risks
  • You are proficient in using various tools and techniques to elicit, document, and validate requirements
  • You have extensive experience working with data heavy finance reporting processes
  • You are proficient in Excel and Visio as well as other standard Microsoft office products
  • Having exposure to Alteryx, PowerBI, TM1 and SAP is a distinct advantage

Skills and Behaviours Required

  • Proficiency in requirement elicitation and leading requirements gathering processes
  • Strong experience in automating finance processes using IT solutions
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and data manipulation
  • Teamwork and building relationships with a commercial and customer focus
