Job Description

Senior Bookkeeper

Our client is looking for a full-time Senior Bookkeeper to join their friendly, modern, technology-focused accounting practice in Worle, Weston-super-Mare.

The company been in business since 2014 and is one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the local area.

We focus on the smaller end of the market, meaning our clients are typically owner-managed businesses.

In addition, we offer our services locally and nationwide, resulting in a very diverse client portfolio.

The position offers the opportunity to work closely with some of the area’s most innovative and well-known businesses.

We are a friendly, close-knit team and offer solid career prospects and progression for staff members.

This position offers variety and exposure to all aspects of bookkeeping, VAT. The role is suitable for someone who has an in-depth knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks or Sage 50.

Knowledge of other bookkeeping software would also be beneficial but not essential.

Previous Bookkeeping And Accounting Experience Is Essential.

As one of our bookkeepers, your duties will include:
  • Providing ongoing advice and support to clients
  • Bookkeeping for a variety of clients using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and Excel
  • Completing and checking VAT returns before submitting to HMRC
  • Bank and control account reconciliations
  • Using the latest apps and integrations to create and run an efficient end to end bookkeeping process
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Preparation of a new customer’s chart of accounts
  • Liaising with clients
  • Knowledge of MS Office, (mainly Excel spreadsheets)
Salary: negotiable depending upon experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent (Hours Flexible)
