Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals and King’s College Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathologySynnovis currently have an exciting opportunity available to work in the Haematology Department within our modern facility at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), just 20 minutes South of London.We are a very busy, progressive department, and continually strive to provide an efficient and quality driven service to our Bromley GP population and Out-Patients across Orpington and Beckenham Beacon hospitals, and to Acute Care patients on the PRUH site.As a progressive department, we currently provide a full, 24/7 service, comprised of Core Hours Shifts and night and weekend shifts.Although geographically an outer London site, this role benefits from the higher rate London weighting payment (20%).You will be joining a small, friendly, dynamic and committed team of scientists who process approximately 0.8 million tests per year, across all sections of the department.The department comprises an Automated Haematology section including routine Coagulation and Morphology and separate Blood Transfusion section. Our Automated laboratory provides rapid analysis for routine haematological and haemostasis testing, using the Sysmex XN and Sysmex CS systems.Accredited to ISO 15189 standards, the laboratory is also an IBMS approved training provider in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science.We are seeking a proactive, motivated and enthusiastic Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team. You will have a relevant undergraduate degree (i.e. BSc Hons Biomedical Science including HCPC registered) and have also completed a higher qualification (i.e. MSc in relevant subject).The successful candidate will have advanced experience in Haematology, including the performance of automated, semi-automated and manual assays with good knowledge in QMS and related quality tasks.As a Senior Biomedical Scientist you will be responsible for ensuring proper organisation and functioning of the laboratory, directing staff and ensuring that the correct procedures are performed.
