Due to continued growth within our clients ESG team, they have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to come in and lead the growth and development of their Building Physics team in the UK.

Our client is an international, independent real estate consultancy committed to providing comprehensive, innovative, and sustainable solutions for their clients. Their team of experts collaborate with clients worldwide to deliver exceptional real estate services and uphold their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • To act as the technical lead within the business regarding building physics queries.
  • Manage and develop the UK team as needed to meet demand and develop into a market leading Building Physics team.
  • Ability to plan next steps for development for the Building Physics team, covering team skills, workflows and consideration of new software.
  • Delivering specialist advice to reduce energy and carbon use in the built environment.
  • Modelling a range of building types using IES VE with the goal of energy optimisation and decarbonisation.
  • Providing professional work to clients including but not limited to; Non-domestic EPC’s, MEES reports, ADL2A Dynamic simulation and SBEM calculations.
  • Maintain a strong client network, capable of developing and winning new business/clients.
  • Mentor staff to improve and enhance business offering, including development of training programmes.

Experience, Qualification & Skills Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering / Building Services Engineering / Building Physics.
  • Experience in a similar role with a passion for low carbon and low energy design for buildings and a background in Building Physics and passive design (+8 years).
  • Experienced EPC assessor (NDEA Level 5 preferable) with strong experience modelling a range of building types using IES VE and assessments.
  • Demonstrates a wider understanding of complex sustainability problems associated with a range of built environment issues and identify appropriate solutions through sound sustainability principles.
  • Must have great verbal and numerical skills and good written skills.
  • Driving licence essential.
