We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person with good manual dexterity and attention to detail to join our Technical Services team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) in Pharmacy at Velindre Cancer Centre. Working closely with the rest of the team, you will work primarily as a cleanroom operator, preparing Intravenous Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) medication for our patients. Requiring to work to regulatory standards, accurately following Standard Operating Procedures which are compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

The successful applicant will undertake in house specialist training to become a competent cleanroom operator. Working as part of a team to assist in the provision of a pharmaceutical service. Undertaking a wide range of day to day activities in the aseptic unit, including preparing SACT, cleaning and maintaining the aseptic suite and its associated equipment, setting up work trays, stock control and ordering.

An NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services and previous experience working within a regulated environment, cleanrooms or laboratories is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. You will participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
