Are you looking for your next Merchandising role?

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Merch to join our team. The successful candidate will be highly analytical and organised and will also be educated to degree level (or have equivalent relevant experience) with strong literacy and numerical skills.

As a Senior Assistant Merchandiser, you will have proven experience in supplier management

and be accountable for all aspects of the delivery process from start to finish. You will also be

accountable for placing PO’s, ensuring stock availability to maximise sales, and reviewing

performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels. You will have sound commercial

acumen, excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

Previous proven experience of at least 2 years working within a retail Merchandising environment is essential, as is excellent PC skills including Word and Excel.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the buying team to contribute to and deliver the departmental strategy
  • Identify key insight and actions to improve performance and customer experience
  • Help shape the sales and margin budget for the financial year and contribute to the

commercial review meetings balancing opportunities and risk

  • Manage the critical path working cross functionally within the category team to ensure on

time launch

  • Provide historical data to help propose new range direction
  • Support decisions on product mix, option planning, price architecture and work closely

with the Buying team on this

  • Propose an exit plan for all end of season lines to ensure maximum profit
  • Lead weekly departmental trade with the Buying team to agree what actions should be

taken to maximise sales and profit

  • Lead and manage cross functional progress meetings
  • Sign off and place purchase orders within budget, balancing stock availability and

warehouse capacity

  • Identify new opportunities to grow sales and profitability
  • Regularly review performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels
  • Manage plans for stock levels
  • Participate in promotional activities
  • Write reports and forecast sales levels

  • Self-starter who can use initiative and work on tasks on their own without direct

supervision

  • A flexible approach to work, with the ability to multitask and react quickly and deliver

results in a fast-paced environment

  • A passion for retail with a drive to accelerate business growth
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous head office-based retail Merchandising experience
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant experience within the following fields is extremely desirable: Childrenswear,

Accessories, Menswear and Womenswear
