About The Role

SSE Renewables (SSERs) aim is to be a world leading asset management organisations, and the operator and partner of choice. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Asset & Investment Manager to join our Commercial & Investment Management Team, taking accountability for delivering value and protecting SSER’s investment for our Seagreen Joint Venture.

In this role you will: -
  • Be the SSER representative of the JV company, optimising performance and profitability, taking on the role as key decision maker for all SSER JV related matters based on robust analysis.
  • Provide recommendations to the SSE JV board directors and senior management teams as appropriate on all operational and construction stage decisions, as well as influencing the 5-year business plan and strategy.
  • Be the owner and subject matter expert for all project equity documents, including Shareholder Agreements, PPAs and financing documents as well as being the key decision maker on CfD and other auction processes.
  • Take ownership of the relationships with the SSER led Management Service Agreement team ensuring delivery of the contracted scope of service in full, on time and to the agreed budget, always looking for ways to improve service and add value.
  • Be responsible for the creation and provision of reporting e.g. input to quarterly Board packs, maintenance of appropriate Risk Registers as well as acting as the internal conduit to a variety of other internal and external stakeholders and shareholders.
What do I need?

To be successful in this role, in addition to demonstrating the passion to support SSER’s goals and ambitions on our journey to net zero, we would love you to have:-
  • Stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills, evidenced through experience of working within complex joint venture structures and a clear understanding of the JV requirements / obligations.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to develop bid/business strategies and grasp the key commercial drivers in relation to existing assets and new transactions.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including an understanding of financial information, such as financial statements, company accounts and sector data and ability to synthesize complex matters effectively and concisely.
  • Thorough understanding of the offshore wind market, the GB and IRE electricity markets, regulatory changes and impact on commercial opportunities, including knowledge of regulatory support packages.
  • Ability to lead, manage and deliver people, projects and results directly and through others, both within SSER and JV structures and often in situations without formal authority.
