Senior Architect - Payments / Commercial Treasury Management

This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration.

Overview:

The role requires a strong technical and architectural background with an in-depth knowledge of corporate payments and treasury management in a complex system environment merging legacy and modern technologies.

Act as a catalyst for change and enable the enterprise for success, with a focus on Application Modernization and Migration. Leads the development and maintenance of a complex integration/solution architecture for portfolios, projects and/or domains that supports the most efficient, reliable, scalable and secure solutions to meet the business needs and technology strategy; this includes planning, evaluating, recommending and designing solutions to ensure technology projects are cost-effective, compliant with enterprise policies, and corporate technology standards and do not diverge from business and technology strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and drive comprehensive solutions that meet business requirements in support of the Global Payments, Commercial Card, and Receivables domains
• Responsible
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
• Responsible for supporting key business initiatives by providing technical, financial and operational insight into legacy and cloud-based solutions
• Create architectural artifacts, snapshots, technical evaluations, vendor assessments and present options and recommended approach
• Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial, and technology objectives through documentation of strategy, systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to evaluate and document reference architectures, patterns and technology selection for cloud application architectures
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop compliance automation and policy-as-code to streamline cloud governance
• Analyze current application portfolios and define the target state and transition roadmap for migrating applications to the public cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Drive cloud adoption effort in the bank and institutionalize best practices
• Develop cloud-native patterns for reliability, security, scalability, maintainability, and reusability
• Support vendor selection activities including recommendations of when to make the appropriate build vs. buy decisions
• Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the Line of Business (LOB) or domain’s targeted business outcomes
• Contribute and maintain governance framework (Policies, Standards, Processes and Guidelines)
• Define current and target states, develop roadmaps and supporting architecture patterns
• Provide consulting support to application architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned with enterprise strategy and architecture
  
  

A successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ operational/technical experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years’ operational/technical experience
  
  

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Deep domain expertise in payments and cash management.
• Deep domain expertise of cloud application development practices and solutions, container orchestration, continuous integration technologies and web application server technologies
• Experience in developing cloud-native, event-driven architecture patterns and modeling (Web/Mobile/API)
• Experience in architecting and implementing technical solutions in the cloud (Azure)
• Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud based solutioning
• Experience in mapping new or existing applications/services against service offerings in the cloud
• Experience in leading large-scale application modernization and lifecycle management efforts
• Experience in architecting and implementing highly available and resilient applications supporting core business functions
• Experience in DevSecOps tools & practices
• Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field
• Ten or more (10+) years of professional experience in Information technology, Cyber Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
• Knowledge of application security and secure software development practices
• Experience with assessment, implementation, optimization, and documentation of broad set of security technologies and processes such as data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to author and present materials ranging from detailed technical specifications to high-level presentations
• Hands-on technical experience in designing, building and securing solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
• Ability to engage at all levels of the enterprise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
• Relevant certifications in Enterprise Architecture discipline
