Job Description

As a Senior AML Officer, you’ll lead a team of AML Officers (based in Gibraltar and the UK) as well as using your expertise to add value through hands-on Anti Money Laundering work. You’ll be involved in important work which ensures we’re able to "go one better" when it comes to protecting our business and customers. This is a huge area of focus for William Hill and our industry as a whole, and we can offer fantastic opportunities for career development throughout our global business.

About Us

Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you’ll need to be your best self. It’s not just our colleagues we look after - we’ve got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.

Your role in the team

Your role will involve reviewing transactional data relating to customer spend, either in a Licenced Betting Office or via their online account. You’ll draft and submit Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency, and respond to external requests for information from agencies such as the police. You’ll review Customer Due Diligence profiles, offering specialist advice relating to AML, and create reports for the business for AML and/or Customer Due Diligence. You’ll also hold responsibility for assessing SIPs, PEPs and Sanction matches and acting accordingly.

You’ll take ownership of managing the workload of your team of AML Officers, offering guidance and feedback, as well as day to day line management and supervision. Reporting to the AML Operations Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the Head of AML, UK Compliance Director and stakeholders from various teams across our international business.

Skills needed

You’ll need to bring us a thorough understanding of financial crime, AML processes and procedures, and experience of reviewing due diligence profiles. A background in the betting and gaming or financial services industry would set you up well for success in this role.

You’ll need to be a confident team leader, with the ability to delegate and prioritise effectively, and the drive to motivate your team to do their best work. You must be organised and process driven, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail in a fast paced environment.

Your excellent communication skills will help you build great relationships with your team and stakeholders, and you’ll need to be a confident user of Microsoft Office products.

We work a five from seven day sift pattern, so flexibility is essential.

What we offer

Your 25 days holiday is topped up by 12 bank holidays and we offer you a generous pension, Healthcare and Life Assurance as standard. Gym discounts, and our office sports and social committee activities could be right up your street. We’ve got an excellent relocation package to support you should you make the move; English is the local language however we can help you and your family with Spanish lessons.
