Are you passionate about education? Are you available full-time? If you answered yes to the above then this may be the school for you. About the role- SEN Teaching Assistant You will be working with students with special educational needs within this primary school’s SEN provision. Students have a variety of needs including Autism Down Syndrome and speech and language needs. You will be working within the classroom as well as observing play either on a 1-1 basis with students or working with students of similar needs in small group settings. Your role will require you to help students engage in their studies, to get hands on with students in play based lessons and to provide personal care as required. Due to the needs of the students and their schedule we require individuals who are available full-time for this role. About the school The school is based in Edmonton within the London Borough of Enfield and is easily accessible by a large number of buses and London Overground lines. They are a mixed mainstream primary school that have an SEN resource base on site that provides additional support to students primarily with Autism. Here students are encouraged to be fully integrated with their peers within mainstream classes and are supported to make the most of their abilities and overcome all challenges they may face both within education and in the outside world. The school is a warm and friendly environment with top tier staff who have an overwhelming depth of knowledge and understanding of Autism needs and how to best care for students with SEN needs.
